Tim Bawtree is a veteran of the global data centre industry with over 25 years’ experience in IT and digital infrastructure. Beginning his career in 1995 delivering connectivity to remote regions, he went on to co-found London Switch in 1998, which later became part of Global Switch. This landmark development played a pivotal role in shaping London’s data centre landscape.

Throughout his career, Tim has worked extensively with clients worldwide, holding senior technical and operational roles that combine hands-on delivery with strategic leadership. In 2018, he founded Quantum Switch, a next-generation data centre platform specialising in the design, build, and operation of sustainable hyperscale facilities in emerging markets. The company’s mission is not only to expand cloud and digital services, but also to create high-value skilled jobs and drive long-term economic growth.

Recognised as a data centre pioneer, Tim continues to lead Quantum Switch’s vision for resilient, sustainable, and sovereign-aligned digital infrastructure across EMEA and beyond.
